Entry requirement

  • Apply for an undergraduate or honours course - international students How to apply Apply directly to Monash Apply through VTAC if you are currently studying Year 12 or International Baccalaureate (IB) in Australia What you need to provide The online application will ask you to provide details about the course you are applying for (see the lists below). International applicants: course code name of the course course start date campus certified documentation specified in the course entry requirements (e.g. results, certificates, related employment) a certified copy of your passport evidence you meet the English language requirements certified translations of documents in a language other than English $100 applicant fee (or a waiver code)
  • 6.5 Academic IELTS, with no band score less than 6
  • If you would like to study in Australia at a university or tertiary level then you may be eligible for the Higher Education Sector Visa (subclass 573) or Postgraduate Research Sector Visa (subclass 574). If your intention is to study a non-award foundation studies course or components of a course (other than English Language Intensive Courses for Overseas Students) that does not lead to an award then the Non Award Sector visa (subclass 575) may suit your needs. For those who intend to come to Australia to undertake English Language Intensive Courses for Overseas Students (ELICOS) the Independent ELICOS Sector visa (subclass 57) provides this option.   • How to apply Apply through VTAC Entry requirements Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) Satisfactory completion of eight units at level 3 and 4, including any English subject. An ATAR of 70 or above. Interstate Year 12 qualification Satisfactory completion of qualifications equivalent to the VCE, and an accredited Year 12 English course. An ATAR of 70 or above. International Baccalaureate (IB) Satisfactory completion of the International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma, including English. A score equivalent to an ATAR of 70 or above. University studies/single units Satisfactory completion of at least two units at an Australian university or with Open Universities. Diploma of Tertiary Studies (DoTS) Satisfactory completion of DoTS meets minimum requirements for entry into some undergraduate courses. Monash College diploma Diploma part 1 meets minimum requirements for entry into first-year of some undergraduate courses. Diploma part 2 meets minimum requirements for entry into second-year of some undergraduate courses. For more information on these courses, see Monash College entry requirements. Monash University Foundation Year (MUFY) Satisfactory completion of Monash University Foundation Year. TAFE qualification Satisfactory completion of an advanced certificate (Certificate IV or above) or diploma meets minimum requirements for some Monash undergraduate courses. Scored or graded results are required. We cannot assess results with pass/fail or competent/not competent results. Special Tertiary Admissions Test (STAT) Satisfactory completion of the STAT meets minimum requirements for entry into some Information Technology courses. Special entry program Domestic applicants may be eligible for one or more special entry programs when applying through VTAC or the online form.
