For over 20 years, ACTT and IFSS have launched countless acclaimed careers in film, television and theatre, both in Australian and internationally. Their alliance, and the birth of the Academy of Film, Theatre & Television (AFTT) in 2016, builds on this prestige and takes it to the next level – the creation of a dynamic, skills-based learning environment that offers a full spectrum of creative arts disciplines.

Our culture

Founded on passion, inspiration, adventure and creative excellence, at AFTT our strength is derived from our community. Thanks to the cross-disciplinary nature of the Academy, our students, staff and management connect and collaborate together on a daily basis and this creates an exciting, inspiring and engaged space in which to work, learn and create.

The AFTT community is made up of creatively focused like-minded individuals, drawn from current and past students, tutors, directors, consultants, and a supportive and dedicated student recrutiment and administration team. Our extended friends and esteemed partners from the creative industry at large include the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA), University of New England (UNE), Belvoir Street Theatre, Bondi Pavilion, Randwick Ritz, L.A. film festival, Cannes Film Festival, Director Guild, and the Cinematographers Guild to name a few.
