Public health is the science and art of preventing disease, prolonging life and promoting health by improving social and political systems.
To be eligible for admission to the course, an applicant must have completed the following prerequisites at year 12 level, or equivalent.
- Prerequisites: English (4, SA).
- Prerequisites: Units 3 and 4 – a study score of at least 30 in English (ESL) or 25 in any other English
New South Wales
- Prerequisites: 2 units of HSC English.
Equivalent to Australian High School completion plus academic IELTS 6.5 (with a minimum of 6.0 in all tests).
If you would like to study in Australia at a university or tertiary level then you may be eligible for the Higher Education Sector Visa (subclass 573) or Postgraduate Research Sector Visa (subclass 574). If your intention is to study a non-award foundation studies course or components of a course (other than English Language Intensive Courses for Overseas Students) that does not lead to an award then the Non Award Sector visa (subclass 575) may suit your needs. For those who intend to come to Australia to undertake English Language Intensive Courses for Overseas Students (ELICOS) the Independent ELICOS Sector visa (subclass 57) provides this option.
