The Certificate III in Aged Care is designed to provide training to entry level workers who want to work in residential aged care facilities, community care and nursing homes. This course will equip students with the skills and knowledge to gain employmen

  • All International students must be over 18 years of age before they can commence their studies at APSI. All aged care students must be over 18 years of age and must be willing to apply for National Police Clearance before workplace training.

     

  • Admission requirements:

    • Students need to demonstrate they have proficiency in English. If student cannot provide a documented proof on their English language proficiency, they will be required to sit for a language, literarcy and numeracy test (LLN) before a place can be offered.
    • International students are required to have a minimum of IELTS test results of 5.5 (academic) with no individual band lower than 5. Or achieve in equivalent in other forms of testing that satisfy the Institute’s requirement.
    • For Certificate level courses, student must have completed a minimum of Year 11 schooling or equivalent or to be a mature age student (20 years of age and above)

    If an international student does not have any current IELTS score or any recognised English language result, they are required to take an English language test. The written component will be emailed to the education agent and the listening component can be taken online at the Test-My-English web site. Please email your written English language test and the test score from this online test.

  • If you would like to study in Australia at a university or tertiary level then you may be eligible for the Higher Education Sector Visa (subclass 573) or Postgraduate Research Sector Visa (subclass 574). If your intention is to study a non-award foundation studies course or components of a course (other than English Language Intensive Courses for Overseas Students) that does not lead to an award then the Non Award Sector visa (subclass 575) may suit your needs. For those who intend to come to Australia to undertake English Language Intensive Courses for Overseas Students (ELICOS) the Independent ELICOS Sector visa (subclass 57) provides this option. In some cases it is possible to package your studies on the one visa subclass. For more information please see Course packaging.     • Completion of Year 11 or equivalent with upper immediate level of English. 
    • Study skills assessments for basic language, literacy and numeracy
    • No prior work experience is required in this field.
  • Domestic Australian students must be a minimum of 15 years of age to study business and hospitality courses and 17 years of age to study all aged care courses. Australian students under 17 years of age must have Notice of Arrangements (NOA) or Section 24 exemption form in place before they can enrol in a course.All domestic students must hold the right to live and work in Australia permanently without any conditions on their visas. For government funded programs, students must hold a valid Medicare Card or Health Care CardDomestic students need to demonstrate they have proficiency in Language, Literacy and Numeracy skills. Students may be required to sit for LLN test before a place can be offered.For certificate III and IV level courses, students must have completed a minimum of Year 11 schooling or equivalent or be a mature age student (20 years of age and above)For direct entry into Diploma level courses, student must have completed a minimum of Year 12 schooling or equivalent or be a mature age student with relevant work experience (20 years of age and above)For direct entry into Advanced Diploma level courses, student must have completed an Australian qualification at Diploma level or equivalent
